Miller, who was at one point placed second, was the best of the Ducati riders and will sit next to British rider Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda Castrol) - who fractured his tibia and tore an anterior cruciate ligament in a cycling incident earlier in the week and has qualified sixth for LCR Honda.
Miller has placed fifth in qualifying for the 2019 German MotoGP Grand Prix after Honda’s reigning champion Marc Marquez completed a decade of pole positions at the circuit with his 10th in a row in all categories at the Sachsenring.
Marquez lapped the Saxony circuit near Chemnitz with a fastest lap of one minute 20.195 seconds, 0.205 quicker than Petronas Yamaha’s 20-year- old French rookie Fabio Quartararo.
The Repsol Honda star, also chasing a tenth successive Sachsenring victory, held off a brave challenge from injured rookie Quartararo, who suffered a 'partial dislocation of his left shoulder' while saving a big tank-slapper during FP3 this morning. Ducati’s Italian title contender Andrea Dovizioso, 44 points behind Marquez after eight of 19 races, will start from 13th on the grid. Italian great Valentino Rossi qualified 11th for Yamaha.
